Barcelona for my Birthday – (5 things you must do in Barcelona)

Reading time: 3 minutes.

Hey Everyone,

So last week I shared with you some places to go to visit if you’re ever in Las Vegas and in line with “things to do abroad” I thought why not share some more but this time about Barcelona.

I visited Barcelona in June 2017 for my Birthday. After doing some research, I found out that there are loads to do and see in Barcelona. As I was only there for three days, I decided to do a small amount of sightseeing but mostly enjoy my hotel and Relax by the pool.

I managed to book a three-night stay for two in June at Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel for only 342.94 EUROS (with my staff discount at the time). This hotel was epic, it had a grand buffet breakfast, rooftop pool and Jacuzzi, extravagant white rooms and lavish views. Although the hotel was not nearby many tourist attractions it had excellent nearby transport links and it was a short 20-minute taxi ride to popular tourist area Les Rambles. Also, it’s close to the airport, which is always good. In some ways, this hotel is just as amazing as the famous W Hotel Barcelona, in my opinion. Where it may lack location and entertainment-wise it makes up in luxury comfort and total bliss. Look at the hotel on TripAdvisor if you don’t believe me.

The five things that I would definitely recommend that you do while you are in Barcelona are:

1. Visit La Barceloneta beach– This beach is stunning and so easy to get to using the metro. Although as it was June finding a spot on the actual beach was tricky.

2. Watch the colour/lights display at the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. As it is so popular, it’s hard to get a good view. I would suggest arriving early to secure a good spot. It is such a nice thing to witness.

3. Party at the W’s rooftop nightclub – legendary W hotel Barcelona. I must give the W Barcelona its props. It is stunning! Literally felt like I had walked into an upper-class contemporary hotel in Las Vegas. It’s very Grand, Modern and has a fantastic view of Barcelona beach as well as being situated right next to the beach.

4. Visit Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. Although I didn’t actually go inside, the surrounding areas has a lot to explore and Is really pretty as it’s filled with has lots of cute fountains. It’s a great spot if you like taking pictures.

5. Park Guell. This is certainly a must-go-to place as it has stunning views of Barcelona city and it’s free admission. The closest metro station is about 15 minutes away so if travelling via train be prepared for a long walk even make sure you have on comfortable shoes. Thank me later

Barcelona has to be one of the liveliest cities in Spain. It’s filled with an abundance of history, nightlight and great food. The nightlife in Barcelona is pretty decent and trap sortation via the metro is excellent. In my opinion, what makes it so unique from other parts of Spain is its ability to appeal to absolutely everyone and the endless activities available. An additional bonus is that it’s not super expensive. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this blog post.

Till next week,

Lots of love,

Sasha
