Hey friends,
Welcome back to my blog.
This week we are talking all things Mexico (Cancun, to be precise ). Cancun was one of my more recent trips, as I visited in May 2022 with my cousin. The weather during this time was hot, although there were a few morning clouds and light rain showers that were very momentarily. In my previous blog post, I shared many photos and suggestions for things you can do in Cancun. Which you can read here. I want to expand more here and share my hotel experience with you.
According to govisity.com Cancun is within the top 50 most visited cities in the world coming in at number 44. Cancun is the perfect destination for large groups as there is a whole strip of clubs, live events, and music all in one place, which makes it a great place to bar crawl.
Similarly to Las Vegas, Mexico has a vast range of grand resorts with impressive in-room features and all-inclusive food options, which is also perfect if you want to come here as a romantic getaway with your partner. During my trip, I stayed at the Oleo resort – all-inclusive, which is located in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
A mini hotel review:
Customer service – I would give this a 4/5. They delivered excellent service, and although the resort was large, it took a while for the hospitality team to deliver meals to our room. When you are hungry, it feels like forever. It takes time for people to bring items over to our room.
Amenities – Tennis grounds, Gym, Spa, Pool, excursion advisors. I used the pool and had a massage. The experience was supreme.
Food – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During the set times, a huge range of food options was available. They even had theme food evenings. One evening there was a beautiful violin player. It was so romantic.
Drinks – the drinks were good but not super strong, and they had excellent drink availability. Mexico Is infamous for tequila, and plenty of it is going around daily.
Entertainment – I didn’t stay in the hotel lobby area during the evenings. However, while waiting to head out, live musicians entertained the hotel guests as they enjoyed a few drinks in the lobby bar.
Writing about this is making me think about going back. It was bliss. You can see video footage of the hotel here.
A few hotels I saw which also looked great were: Iberostar selection Cancún and the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa.
Mexico is rich in culture and has so much to do. I recommend You visit during spring break, the Months of March and April. I suggest May as there is a US public holiday during that month and many parties will be held!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading.
Till Next Time,
Sasha
